Strange Bedfellows
According to a report in Friday's New York Times, the ACLU has reached an agreement to hire Bob Barr, the wingnut former Congressman who was too conservative to get re-elected in the Republican primary in Georgia this year, as a consultant. Barr actually has a decent record on civil liberties issues, but, as a card-carrying ACLU member, I have to question his judgment, not to mention that of the ACLU in hiring the Clinton impeachment ringleader to work on their behalf.
