Free Online Course Materials from MIT

OK, so I do not understand how this can be sustainable, but MIT is trying to provide free online ed materials to the world at large!

Who am I to question them?

iLearn Goes Open Source in 2004

Starting in 2004, with the release iLearn of under an open source license, will begin seeking software development partners. Is has been built upon web services and the Open Knowledge Initiative project standards.

Ilearn was started as a collaboration between MIT and Microsoft through the iCampus initiative.

The first release can be downloaded from here.
