China Grid project goes live. On Monday, the Chinese Ministry of Education, in conjunction with a dozen universities, plans to go live with a grid computing project that is expected to eventually connect as many as 200,000 students in 100 universities across the country. IBM inks Linux Deals With Argentina, UK, Russia, etc   "IBM's deal with Brazil is the third major international Linux announcement for the technology giant this week. The company on Wednesday touted deals with the United Kingdom and Russia. Other countries are looking into Linux as well. Japan, Korea and China have formed a group to develop open-source software as a replacement for Windows in certain applications.
