GotzeLinked is an open content repository with thematic links. Most links are selected by John Gøtze, PhD, who also maintains the site, but anyone can submit links. There are currently 1439 links in the database.
John has a really comprehensive site, more like a portal than a blog or a website, it seems to go in a number of major directions.

O’Reilly’s Emerging Technology Conference…
Posted Jan 15, 2004, 6:54 PM ET by Judith Meskill
O’Reilly’s Emerging Technology Conference — taking place at the Westin Horton Plaza, San Diego, CA, Feb. 9-12, 2004 — will have a Social Software track. This promises to be an excellent event with a broad spectrum of notable speakers that includes (but is certainly not limited to): Helen Greiner - iRobot Corp., Cory Doctorow - EFF, Lili Cheng - Microsoft Research, Gilman Louie - In-Q-Tel, David Sifry - Technorati, Joichi Ito - Neoteny, Elizabeth Lawley - Rochester Institute of Technology, and, of course, Tim O’Reilly - O’Reilly & Associates. [The Social Software Weblog]
This is the key event of the year. We're gonna party like is USED to be 1999.
I'll be there - sponsored by Laszlo Systems and I'll be giving a :05 minute talk on FOAF and the PeopleAggregator.
But clearly the most exciting event will be the field trip to TJ and the House of Mole. Something not to be missed. [Marc's Voice]

knowledge management. M-E-X Blog links to an very comprehensive guide to Knowledge Management. This great site tries to shed light into the group of solutions that has suffered from the reckless usage of KM as a buzzword in boom times. It even tries a definition: "Succinctly put, KM is the process through which organizations generate value from their intellectual and knowledge-based assets. Most often, generating value from such assets involves sharing them among employees, departments and even with other companies in an effort to devise best practices. It's important to note that the definition says nothing about technology; while KM is often facilitated by IT, technology by itself is not KM. " What are the benefits of KM?
- Foster innovation by encouraging the free flow of ideas
- Improve customer service by streamlining response time
- Boost revenues by getting products and services to market faster
- Enhance employee retention rates by recognizing the value of employees' knowledge and rewarding them for it
- Streamline operations and reduce costs by eliminating redundant or unnecessary processes
And finally a revenue projection: "...revenues will approach $1 billion by 2003, up from $178 million in 1999. Delphi Group defines portal as a “single point of integrated, personalized online access." [TJ's Weblog "Technology, Venture Capital and Entrepreneurship"]

2003 in Review: DRM Technology. DRM Watch - 2003 in Review: DRM Technology. It's the end of 2003, and DRM technology is inching ever so slowly towards the mainstream. To use Geoffrey Moore's terminology, DRM has crossed the chasm -- made particularly deep and yawning by the overall post-9/11 technology slump -- and made it firmly into the bowling alley. DRM technology progressed through 2003 primarily by finding new niche markets and building solutions for those markets that expand on established DRM techno... [Meerkat: An Open Wire Service]
