Condoleezza Rice speaks after President-elect Bush named her to serve as his national security adviser, during a ceremony at the Governor's Mansion in Austin, Texas, in this Dec. 17, 2000, file photo. Rice, who served as a Russia specialist on the first President Bush's national security team, was visiting the former president in Texas when she met his son, then the Texas governor, in 1995.

Sometimes it's hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
You'll have bad times
And he'll have good times
Doing things that you don't understand
But if you love him, you'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
And if you love him, be proud of him
'Cause after all, he's just a man
Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
When nights are cold and lonely
Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man

-- Tammy Wynette

The three major U.S. broadcast networks said April 6, 2004 they will broadcast live National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice's testimony before the commission investigating the Sept. 11 2001 attacks. ABC, NBC and CBS said they would go live at 9 a.m. EDT on April 8 to broadcast the appearance, which comes amid controversy over whether she failed to focus on the threat posed by al Qaeda in the weeks before the Sept. 11 2001 attacks on the world Trade Center and the Pentagon. A few more photos of Condi because she's just so damned likeable:

Bush to land on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, as the ship steamed toward San Diego, California in this file photo taken on May 1, 2003. From the deck of the carrier, Bush was to address the nation tonight to say that all major combat in Iraq has ended. The head of the commission investigating the September 11, 2001 attacks urged Rice on Sunday to testify before it in public but Rice repeated her refusal to do so. REUTERS/Kevin Lamarque/Files

These photos illustrates why Air America Radio host Randi Rhodes calls Rice "reptilian." Sometimes you expect her to pop a small rodent into her mouth at any moment and swallow it whole like one of the lizard-aliens in the '80s TV mini-series "V." Rice is more of a white man that I will ever be.
