An excellent choice and good timing: Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry is a solid candidate and will make a fine president, but North Carolina Sen. John Edwards is the rush that the Kerry campaign has needed. And Kerry made his announcement of his choice of running mate today just at a time when his campaign needed an injection of excitement. The fresh-faced, populist Edwards is a stark contrast to Dick Cheney, with his permasmirk and his Halliburton (a.k.a. the No. 1 reason that the Bush regime invaded Iraq). It will be almost as interesting to watch the energetic Edwards debate the crusty, corrupt Cheney as it will be to watch the intelligent, eloquent Kerry debate "President" Dumbfuck.
