why did cindy let her son go into the armed forces when ALL Americans know there's a chance enlistees may go to war and die for FREEDOM? and by the way, our Commander In Chief DID meet with sheehan and she was THRILLED then. leave the USA if you don't like it!!!

You don't see " Check to delete this comment" on your computer when you look at the comments on my blog, but I see it on my computer. It's always tempting to delete such shit because I don't pay my $40 a year for this blog to give wingnuts a forum for their regurgitated "arguments," such as the horribly original "leave the USA if you don't like it!!!"
But sometimes it's best to leave the wingnuts' comments because their comments illustrate, better than I ever could, their appalling stupidity.
It's also fun to reply to the wingnuts. It's so easy to rip them to shreds. Like this:

Casey Sheehan was 20 years old when he enlisted in 2000. His mother did not want him to enlist but a mother can't tell her 20-year-old son what to do if he's bound and determined. Cindy Sheehan had met with Bush before it was definitively announced that Iraq never had the WMDs the Bush regime lied about. (And she wasn't "THRILLED," you fucking liar, she was a grieving mother.) And even if that weren't the case, she has the right to change her mind, fuckwad, because that's part of the freedom that you always talk about but don't want anyone to actually have. Lila Lipscomb, the mother featured in "Fahrenheit 9/11," was for Gulf War II until her son died in it and she really looked into it and realized that it's a bogus fucking war, that her son died not for "freedom," but to make filthy rich people even richer. She and anyone else is fucking allowed to change her or his mind, you fucking wingnut zombie. I wholeheartedly support our soldiers, which is why I think they should be put in harm's way only if absolutely necessary. They SHOULD die ONLY for things like freedom and democracy -- not for Dick Cheney's retirement. This nation would be much better off if assholes like YOU were to leave it. You think that slapping a "Pray for Our Troops" magnet on your SUV fulfills your civic duty, when EDUCATING yourself about what's really going on is how you fulfill your civic duty. This democracy is dying because a democracy can survive if only a certain percentage of its citizens are idiots and we are now reaching a critical mass of idiots, which includes fascistic jingoists like you. I note that you didn't have the balls to leave your name. Typical of you wingnut cowards.

Liberals think they have to be "nice"* to the wingnuts. They -- we -- don't and we shouldn't be.
First, we don't have enough time to be "nice." All that "nice" is going to do is push us closer to the Armageddon to which the Bush regime is pushing us. The time for "nice" is long past.
Secondly, if being "nice" to the wingnuts worked, I'd say be "nice" to the wingnuts. But it doesn't work. They don't respond to "nice" and being "nice" in the face of their vicious attacks only makes you look like a pussy. The wingnuts are never going to be nice to you. They would show you no mercy; show them no mercy.
Give it right back to the cowards. Use all of the profanity and epithets that you want -- just make sure that you put your facts and sound reasoning in there. That way, you not only slay the wingnuts, but you bury them, too.
*In our culture, we equate holding back what needs to be said with being "nice." As holding back what needs to be said usually only results in even more pain and suffering, I don't see that being "nice" is very nice.
