Dick Cheney said today of Vietraq War opponents' criticisms of the war, "The saddest part is that our people in uniform have been subjected to these cynical and pernicious falsehoods day in and day out." Gee, I think the saddest part is that our people in uniform have been maimed and killed because of Cheney & Co.'s bold-faced fucking lies that put them in Iraq in the first place.

Uncle Dick is still funny!

Dick "Permascowl" Cheney (I mean, really, what's up with the fact that the man has only one facial expression?* Is it the pacemaker?) -- whom the Bush regime always dusts off and drags out from an undisclosed hidden location to do its dirtiest work because most Americans already hate Cheney even more than they hate George W. Bush anyway -- today called opponents of the Vietraq War "opportunists" telling "cynical and pernicious falsehoods."

That's funnier than anything that I could ever write.

"Opportunists" telling "cynical and pernicious falsehoods." This from the man whose war-profiteering company, Halliburton, could not be raking in billions of dollars in no-bid Vietraq War-related contracts had he not been instrumental in delivering the Vietraq War to the war-profiteering company that he just coinkily-dinkily used to head. This from the man co-responsible for the deaths of thousands and thousands of Iraqi civilians and more than 2,000 U.S. troops (and many, many others) over the bold-faced lies that he and his neocon cohorts told about nonexistent weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

As "President" Bush and Cheney and the other traitors and war criminals within the Bush regime look like they might actually be brought to justice one day for their obvious treason and war crimes, watch for their increasingly desperate rhetoric.

On one side of his mouth (you pick which side, the perpetually upturned side or the perpetually downturned side), Cheney accuses Vietraq War opponents of trying to "rewrite history," yet on the other side of his mouth, Cheney and his fellow Repugnicans are busily trying to rewrite history themselves by acting as though the Democrats who voted to give the Bush regime the authority to invade Iraq were as gung-ho about invading Iraq as was the Bush regime.

The historical fact is that the Bush regime was clobbering any and all opponents of its inevitable invasion of Iraq with the labels of traitor or terrorist sympathizer or the like -- just ask former Ambassador Joseph Wilson and his White House-outed CIA operative wife, Valerie Plame -- and while one can accuse the Democrats who voted to give the Bush regime the authority to illegally, immorally, unprovokedly and imperialistically invade Iraq of having been cowards and/or dupes, one cannot say that they were blood-, oil- and no-bid-contract-thirsty warhawks like the Bushies were -- because they were not.

And when the Bush regime fabricated (or, at the very least, sexed up) its "evidence" for Saddam Hussein's possession of WMDs -- including former Secretary of State Colin Powell ominously holding up a vial of fake anthrax before the United Nations Security Council and Bush ominously claiming in his State of the Union speech that Iraq had sought uranium from Niger -- the Democrats in Washington were as lied to by the Bush regime as were millions of Americans and the rest of the world.

What pussies the Bush Repugnicans are for refusing to take responsibility for their own lies and crimes and instead pointing their crooked fingers at the Democrats whom they intimidated into going along with their war crimes.

And it's pretty fucking interesting that when it comes to decision making, the Repugnicans -- who control all three fucking branches of the federal government -- have shoved elected Democratic lawmakers aside as much as possible, yet when the chickens come home to roost and it looks like there might actually be some accountability for the illegal, immoral, unprovoked and imperialist invasion and subsequent occupation of the sovereign nation of Iraq, suddenly the reptilian Repugnicans want to treat the Democrats as co-equals.

The only man whom I want to see hanging from a tree for his treason and for his war crimes even more than George W. Bush is Dick Cheney.

Cheney & Co. know that they deserve to hang and they know that a growing number of Americans know that -- which is why they're desperately trying to implicate along with themselves the Democrats whom they browbeat into giving the Bush regime carte blanche where Iraq was concerned.

It's a very interesting political "strategy," though, because contained right there in the Repugnicans' current talking-points "argument" that "The Democrats are guilty, too!" is the admission of their own guilt, an admission that I never thought we'd see.
