Republican presidential candidate Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., ...

Associated Press photo

Repugnican John McCain, left, greets supporters at one of his rallies, which apparently are whiter than KKK rallies. What looks like a campaign rally sign actually is a cue card in case the old fart should forget his own name.

John Fossil Fool McCain has lost it

Not just his mind, which he lost long ago, but the November presidential election, too.

McCain's beyond-lame campaign for the White House is reduced to tactics that didn't work for Billary Cunton, such as blaming McCain's unpopularity on the media.

Today's talking point from the McCain campaign was that “the media is [sic] in love with Barack Obama.” That was the whiny subject line of this fundraising e-mail that Team McCain put out today (yes, I’m on the enemy’s e-mail list):

McCain Team -

VoteIt's pretty obvious that the media has a bizarre fascination with Barack Obama. Some may even say it's a love affair. We want you to be the judge. We've compiled two videos of the more outrageous moments of this not so secret love affair. Follow this link to watch the two videos and vote on which one you think is better. Your vote will determine which video we put on the air.

The media is in love with Barack Obama. If it wasn't so serious, it would be funny.

Regards,

The McCain Campaign

First things first: “media” is plural, not singular. (“Medium” is the singular form of “media.”) So it is “the media are in love with Barack Obama.” (And "If it wasn't so serious, it would be funny" should be "If it weren't so serious, it would be funny.") I wish that those who scream “English only!” would fucking bother to learn English.

OK, now to the red meat:

Why weren’t the wingnuts whining about how fucking great George W. Bush had it in the aftermath of 9/11? "President" Bush was the undisputed fuehrer after the Reichstag fire on Sept. 11, 2001, and the media gave him a free pass all the way through 2003, when the corporately owned and controlled media acted not as critical and analytical informers of the American public, but acted as fucking cheerleaders for the unelected Bush regime’s illegal, immoral, unprovoked and unjust invasion of Iraq of March 2003.

Hell, the media even pretty much gave George W. Bush a free pass when he and his henchpeople, including Repugnican Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris (who just coinky-dinkily also had sat on the state’s committee to elect Gee Dubya) and the five members of the U.S. Supreme Court who had been appointed by Repugnican presidents, blatantly stole the presidential election of 2000.

The corporately owned and controlled media allowed King George II first to steal an election and then to start a bogus war that continues today, with nary a peep.

The Repugnicans had a great run with media that refused to do their job. For years.

It probably seems unfair to the McCain camp that the media gravy train came to a halt. Well, Team Bush beat Team McCain to it. Team Bush did lots of things that Team McCain won't be able to do, such as to steal a presidential election and then to start a bogus war for war profiteers. Team Gee Dubya's tactic always has been to act outrageously, figuring (usually correctly) that they're so fucking outrageous that they'll actually get away with it, and Team Dubya never has been very concerned that those Repugnicans who follow them won't be able to get away with the same shit.

Unfair to McCain that he's had to follow Bush? Maybe. But that's the way that the ball bounced.

And isn’t it weakness to whine that the media “is” treating your opponent with more love and affection than that with which the media are treating you? I mean, which is it: John McCain the big bad war hero (or, as Ted Rall appropriately calls McCain, a "war zero") or John McCain the big fuckin' pussy who cries over his "mistreatment" by the media?

I watched the McCain campaign's little videos of members of the corporately owned media fawning over Obama. Yeah, so what? The corporately owned and controlled media stopped being objective no later than in March 2003, when they became shameless cheerleaders for the unelected Bush regime's bogus Vietraq War (remember "shock and awe" and all of those "embedded" "reporters"?) -- which is when I stopped watching TV "news."

And the images of the members of the media fawning all over Obama pretty much indicate that the young and fresh Obama is popular and well-liked whereas the crusty old McCain is not. Is that really the message that Team McCain wanted to put out there?

Team McCain counts on its mouth-breathing supporters to get all riled over the "liberal media" (the media "is" always "liberal" -- unless, of course, "it's" blindly supporting a Repugnican "president") and give the McCain campaign money. (It's sickening how any campaign, Democrat or Repugnican, will so blatantly try to anger people into giving the campaign money: "So-and-so did or said this! Doesn't that piss you off?!?! Now give us some money!!!")

But isn't the McCain campaign taking an awfully big risk by pointing out (correctly or incorrectly) how much the members of the media love Obama but ignore McCain? Are the already-dispirited Repugnicans who watch the McCain campaign's videos of the real or imagined Obama media lovefest going to dole out money to a Dole-like candidate because they are so pissed off at the Obama-lovin' media -- or are they going to say, "Oh, fuck it! The media hates [sic] McCain! We can't possibly win!"?

I'm betting it's the latter.
