So I signed up for this 10 week course, see and I'm a little nervous about it.  I mean, I'm going from being quite sedentary to working out 6 days a week!  I sweat it out just walking up the hill from the bus stop twice a day!

Tonight I went to a Kick Boxing class so I could see what I am in for next week and oh man, was I embarassed!  First of all, I'm not the most aggressive person you've ever met, so me punching the air looks more like someone who is on an acid trip trying to catch the tracers off of the lights.  I forgot to take my inhaler, so half way through the class, as I was dripping profuse amounts of sweat off of every surface of skin I was also wheezing for air and thought I'd pass out.

Some how I made it through.  I must say I was probably the goofiest looking thing there, because I was wearing this great pair of Yoga pants that has nice, wide bell bottoms.  Very comfortable and perfect for Yoga; very weird for Kick Boxing.  Most everyone else was wearing shorts and really, most everyone looked coordinated.

I signed up for this class with my friend, D.  She's awesome.  She couldn't go tonight, but we went last week together and we were both sucking air 10 minutes into the class.  Our actual orientation starts on Saturday with training and nutritional counseling and of course PEP talks.  Ugh.

But it's exciting really.  Can't you tell?  I'm really excited.  It's 11:56 PM and I'm wired.

New Dimensions

paulapalooza used to be a dancer.  she used to have a svelte, toned and responsive body that could hold up to hours of rehearsal.  now p is a mommy, and has let herself go to, well, to pot.

for a period of ten weeks, this blog will now be a place for her to chronicle her attempt to "get back her body."  starting next Saturday, p will be in a bodyshaping course that meets 6 times a week: 3 days of cardio work out and 3 days of strength training.   p isn't so much concerned with losing weight as she is in just turning the flab back into muscle.

the first step in this program was actually signing up.  this was a HUGE step for p because it meant that it was a commitment.  so now she is counting down the days: 6 to go. . .
