Welcome to Your Salon Blog Tour of Quality! Glad to have you visit one of this week’s temporary locations for Your Salon Blog Tour of Quality (SBToQ). Your regular host, Mark Hoback, is out of pocket and will return December 4th to his normal daily broadcast at Fried Green al Qaedas. SBToQ Today Blogs of interest line-up for December 1st, by category (more may be added as the day progresses, check back, please!) -- Humor and Drama: Antimatter: when you need a smartass POV. (I’m particularly fond of the post at Experience the drama of collegiate football at Hate Central, back from Thanksgiving hiatus. Surprisingly, the turkey dinner hasn’t slowed ‘em down a whit. Note the divergence in opinions about Soderberg’s ‘Solaris’. Paula gives it a thumbs up at paulapalooza’s recommended reading and such; Maxine gives it a thumbs down last Friday. Hmm, sounds like time to toss the coin…heads we go, tails we rent in a year? Foreign: Define “Foreign”, because Jan Haugland sure sounds like he’s here in the States. Check this out at his blog Secular Blasphemies – although he’s covered the breach between Tom Fox has been “walk about”, but returns on 01 dimanche decembre to his blog Paris to discuss Politics and Non-Fiction: Wow, hard to tell, is it politics, economics, discourse on web search engines, food? But it’s always entertaining: Playing with My Food tackles Technology and Science: Quite a buffet at Ted Ritzer’s Tech4Communicators; look for info on Newzcrawler, Sun Microsystem’s efforts to push StarOffice through ISP’s (it’s about time MS Office got a run!) and thank you, a link to the entire Cluetrain Manifesto (I’m going to read it now, but does one really need the entire manifesto if one only missed the cluetrain?). Arts and Crafts: Food being both Art and Craft, I’m filing Leah Lohman Adams’ Struggle in a Bungalow Kitchen (the blog formerly known as ’40 Meals and 3 Mules’) under this category. Leah itemizes the whys of her struggle, before bailing out on a vacation to investigate similar struggles of a Spanish cocina Just plain all-around-goofiness and fun: Welcome one of our newer bloggers at Jabberwock – note the wrestling with a blog name which many of us have experienced here in Salon Blogs. It’s like trying on a pair of shoes; they might look good, but do they fit?
UPDATE - File this under category, "How The Hell Did I Miss This?!" -- Notes from Atlanta points out yet another incredible disparity between what the right wingers in our current leadership say and what they do...imagine, Pansexual S&M'rs get choice roles with high visibility in the press! Who'da thunk??!! UPDATE – Miss Feva’s got me beat, she’s finished her agnostic-leaning Christmas cards. If you have any curiosity as to whether you’re getting a card from her, check her list…bravo to Hugh Elliott at Standing Room Only makes it only too clear how personal AIDS is to many of us on this World AIDS Day 2002. Kudos for bringing it home, Hugh, and bless you. Watch a blogmorphosis in progress at Hyperbole (the blog formerly known as Hootenanny)…sounds like the personalities have split. What happens next???
UPDATE – Note that a general strike will most likely start tomorrow in Venezuela, in protest of the Chavez administration’s questionable practices. Wasn’t there a little coup there a year or so ago that unseated Chavez? And wasn’t there a little intervention from the SBToQ's Temporary 3-Day Line-Up Here’s the pinch hitters and schedule covering the SBToQ beat in Mark’s absence: Dec. 1 - Rayne Today A personal note: I can’t begin to fill Mark’s shoes; my writing style and humor are simply different. My apologies if you’ve expected Mark’s special brand of wit and talent (heck, I haven’t even figured out how to upload photos yet!). But I’m giving the Tour a shot, so that readers and community members can continue their blog surfing uninterrupted. Be sure to check with The Raven and Andrew Bayer for more SBToQ on Monday and Tuesday.
