| Rayne Today Searching for dharma, in spite of the weather... You Googled Me?: The kids must be off from school for the holiday… Haven’t been able to spend the time on the “You Googled Me?” feature lately, although I do peek daily at referrals to check the pulse and zeitgeist of my blog readers. My referrals have dropped off quite a bit since Friday, though…because the little darlings who are looking to scam a book report aren’t dropping by! No Google searches coming my way for book reports, imagine that!! Bet you they’ll pick up again the first week of the New Year. I won’t take money on this one since the odds are nearly even. WARNING: SLOW BLOGGING AND CHRISTMAS CARD-ING… With the ‘rents continued residency, getting anything done is like moving under water. Everything takes a little more time, a little more coordination, and some things are just plain late. Like my Christmas cards. Nope, not mailed yet. Still stuffing envelopes. We’ve been taking pictures of the kids and putting them in cardholder Christmas cards for nine years now. Each year we take a nice picture of the little angels all decked out in Christmas garb, most years in front of the Christmas tree as soon as the tree is up, and then make a mad dash for the one-hour developer to pick out the right photo, have multiple copies made, then begin stuffing the cards. While time-consuming and tedious, we’ve never been this late before. We’ve simply been too busy to get all this stuff done, or we’re too focused on what’s at hand that we miss the opportunities to pick away at the task. Like going to the local zoo last night to see Santa and the reindeer; we could have taken the picture there, couldn’t we? Nope, too wrapped up in dressing the kids warmly and getting all of us, grandparents included, out the door. Couldn’t even manage a pic of the family the night before with everyone here… Fortunately, technology has blessed us this year. We took a quick couple of photos after dinner last night with the digital camera, downloaded to the computer, cropped and edited, saved to CD. This morning I’m in front of an iPhoto machine at But they still have to make the mail today if any of them stand a chance of arriving tomorrow. If your card doesn’t show up until after Christmas, forgive me. I’ll do better next year – if the ‘rents aren’t here for the season.
