Shortie Sorties

I’m toying with the idea of starting a new category; makes sense on a day when nothing else makes sense.  A category for odd little snippets that deserve a mini-rant or a wise-assed crack or just a “huh?” and nothing more.

Anyhow, here’s a couple of Shortie Sorties that landed on deck.

Doom and Gloom – when will it end??

I thought of Jan Haugland when I ran across this site: Doomsday: The Future.  Seems the website’s author shares the same skepticism and wry humor with Jan on predictions of Earth’s demise.  Worth a yuk if you’re short on laughs.

Syndic8.com – huh?

A link, http://www.syndic8.com/feedinfo.php?FeedID=18262, appeared in my referral logs.  What the heck does this mean?  I see these once in a great while, what’s up with this?

Bigger picture: how the heck do feeds and syndication work anyhow?  Color me stupid, but there’s lots of us blogging who don’t work with this for a living and have no clue what to do with this. ???

(BTW, the explanations at Userland and Syndic8.com leave a LOT to be desired.)

Is Cheney off the hook?

I don’t trust him – Cheney’s a ferret of the biggest sort.  Yeah, the guy with his hand up the President’s *ss.  The power behind the throne.

Now it looks as if he’s off the hook, no longer to be hassled about his relations with the energy industry and their consequent raiding of the energy cookie jar.

What a bunch of crap: they don’t want to spend the money on this, can’t force him to give up papers they way they forced Hillary to cough up papers during the last Administration. 

We could spend hundreds of millions of dollars and nearly a decade chasing Bill and Hillary Clinton about Whitewater, only to come up with a blow job in the Oval Office.

Yet these guys could have exacerbated the energy crisis in California, possibly damaged our foreign policy with respect to oil producing nations.

Utter bullsh*t.  I’m writing my Representatives and Senators to tell this, too.
