Tactile:  Hawaiian Style Pizza = YUM!!!

Kristi, where are you???  Quick, go to FoodTV and look up Follow That Food's Hawaiian Style Pizza from today's program!  This recipe is only available for a couple of weeks on their website ("for legal reasons"...whatever that means).

Why the excitement?  This recipe calls for kalua pork, a.k.a. your carnitas!  Muy delicioso!

Paul, you too, maybe you could do kalua pork in your smoker, skip that liquid smoke???

Wouldn’t it be fun to do a simul-pizza-blog-bake?  Oh, the limitations of blogging!

Shortie Sorties – little fly-by items…

Fleischer’s not THAT boring…?

If you already know what Ari’s going to say, he’s boring.  There’s no surprises with the egg-headed guy.  So really, why wouldn’t the press find somewhere else to sleep besides the White House briefing room?

Rockwell sez

“…How big is the US military? It is by far the largest and most potentially destructive in the history of the world. The US this year will spend in excess of $400 billion (not including much spy spending). The next largest spender is Russia, which spends only 14% of the US total. To equal US spending, the military budgets of the next 27 highest spenders have to be added together. If you consider this, and also consider the disparity of the US nuclear stockpile and the 120 countries in which the US keeps its troops, you begin to see why the US is so widely regarded as an imperialist power and a threat to world peace.

…The focus of the Bush administration on Iraq has more to do with personal vendettas and Iraqi oil. In waging war, the Bush administration proposes to spend twice the annual GDP of the entire Iraqi economy! The US will spend $2 for every $1 it will destroy – the very definition of economic perversity. What's more, an attack will only further destabilize the region and recruit more terrorists intent on harming us.”

Well, when you put it that way!  You can catch the rest of Lew Rockwell’s comments here.  (Thanks to KaneBlues for sharing this one!  Be sure to check out Kane’s site, he’s been nominated for a Pickle!!)

Guess who’s going to fight fires in Iraq?

Halliburton.  What a f*ckin’ surprise.  Is there NO OTHER COMPANY who can do this?  (Maybe if we hired a few French and German contractors...)

Guess who went in to make contracts on infrastructure work in Afghanistan after 9/11 but before the first American air raid in October 2001?  Don’t be silly, it couldn't have been, could it?

Gee, I wonder who owns stock in Halliburton…nah, it’s not possible, is it?

It’s all about this and not about that…

Yeah, everybody’s all about the big H, on the bandwagon with H-cars and hydrogen fuel cells.  Even the energy companies are getting on board – like Royal Dutch Shell partnering with GM.  (No surprise about Shell, they’re a very forward thinking company.)

But why are we putting all the eggs in one damned basket?  There’s technology out there that would allow users to put in ANY fuel of choice.  Stick in a natural gas cartridge this week; propane cartridges are on sale next week at Kmart, methane the following week at Wal-mart.  Why can’t all energy be commoditized, instead of locked into a single energy source?

Sure, hydrogen burning creates water; but some of the as-yet underdeveloped technology is very clean and cheaper than hydrogen.  It’s still too early to get locked in to a single technology, IMHO.
