Slow blogger in residence...

Sorry, gang, I was just plain blogged out.  Maybe it was offline exchanges that chewed up my blog-wattage today, but I had nothing to serve up.

Better luck tomorrow.  Perhaps a good night's sleep and some down time will recharge my fuel cells.

Overheard in Switzerland this week

A very close friend was traveling in Europe this past week; she called on return to catch up.  I told her I’d been concerned about the growing anti-American sentiment abroad, asked if she’d run into it.  I guess things are cool if they think you’re Canadian…but no, typically in Europe folks are not as rude as many Americans.  It wasn’t a problem for her.  She didn’t watch TV while on the road, but she did hear some interesting things.

Picture a group of international bankers chatting at lunch.  A banker believed to be British says:

Perhaps Blair should tell Gerhard Schroeder that if he plays along, we’ll turn our backs if Germany wanted to invade France any time in the future…

Hmm.

I guess I didn’t expect to hear that.
