Sick humor...

Nah, not ha-ha-ralph; the kind of humor one finds in illness.  In this case, found by D.G. Jerz at Literacy Weblog:

"Tracking SARS (Literacy Weblog)

British scientist: SARS came from space.

Hong Kong scientist: SARS came from cats.

Disney: The Cat [came] from Outer Space."

Hah!

Build-A-Meme Project:  Motivation

Since 9/11, our country’s mindset and worldview have changed drastically.  It’s to be expected, based on the size and violence of the terrorist acts against the U.S.  Unfortunately, this nation’s vulnerability after 9/11 was used as a tool to improved the position and stature of persons with fascist tendencies.

Yeah – I said it out loud, I used the F word.  FASCISM is alive and well in this country.

The Well’s Inkvue guest this week is Matthew Fox; the conference is open to guests, I invite you to read post number 103 Matthew cites the work, Fourteen Characteristics of Fascism, written by political scientist, Dr. Lawrence Britt.  You may (or may not) be surprised by the identified traits and how closely this country has come to being out-and-out fascist.

Three years ago the U.S. was NOT this closely aligned with these fourteen traits.  This Administration has been responsible for that dramatic shift.  I, for one, am angry about it – I do not believe this country’s founding fathers believed in fascism.  Our country fought long and bloody wars against it.

And I’ve had enough of it, enough to make me want to work hard to change leadership with the next election.  What about you?

WARNING: BLOG INTERFERENCE

Well, we got a temporary reprieve – looks like the in-laws are coming tomorrow but not today after all.

That’s the good news.  The bad news is that they’re bringing three of my nieces and nephews with them.  It’s rainy and cool now, sure hope it clears before tomorrow – otherwise I’ll have five restless kids ages 10 through 5 cooped up in my little ranch home.  <sigh>

We’ll be battening down the hatches, cleaning out anything that incites excessive curiosity and encourages mischief.  Of course, this results in slower than usual blogging on this front.

I’ll be popping in as time permits and as the Muse prompts.  Do me a favor and drop in at the Freedom 2004 forums and keep up the conversation, okay?  Let’s keep plugging on the meme!
