RantsCounterRants:  Where’s a rusty needle when you need one?

[Consider yourself warned, dear reader; this is an extremely noisome bit of screed that you may not want to read.  I make no apology for my complete and utter distaste for the subject.]

Yeah, we need one of those big, fat, curved puppies used to sew rugs or heavy tapestries.  The kind with a not-quite-sharp point, only good and oxidized from being left out in the rain for a month or so.

Thread it with some heavy sisal twine.  The coarse, picky, buck-a-roll-at-the-hardware-store kind.

Then let’s sew this f*cker’s mouth shut for good.

Richard Perle, you are going to get Americans killed.  More Americans killed, I should say.

Shut the f*ck up.  Stop it, right this instant, and get the hell off the Defense Policy Board.  You are an irrational pig who cannot think his way out of a wet paper bag.

Since you’ve not thought about this at all, your irritating prattle suggesting surgical strikes against Yongbyon as well as your proposal to build a coalition against Korea of its Asian neighbors is an open declaration of hostility towards North Korea:

“Whether we can effectively mobilize a coalition -- including China, Russia, the South Koreans, the Japanese, ourselves -- and so isolate them that they will abandon this program, that remains to be seen," said Richard Perle, an architect of the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

"That's certainly the preferable way to deal with it," he added in a speech to an Iraqi reconstruction conference sponsored by King Publishing Group, a Washington-based newsletter publisher.

"But I don't think anyone can exclude the kind of surgical strike we saw in 1981," he said, citing Israel's surprise air attack that destroyed Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor near Baghdad on June 7, 1981. "We should always be prepared to go it alone, if necessary," he said.

In case you haven’t noticed, they’re pretty paranoid there.  And in case you haven’t paid attention, they embrace the U.S.’s policy of “preemptive strikes”.  You’ve given them ample reason to try a nuclear weapon on us with your saber rattling tripe.

(What a lovely fringe benefit for a country that presumes to be world leader: the little guys copy us, including our idiocies like “preemptive strikes” and “disengagement”.  What, you weren’t expecting that?  Haven’t you been setting defense policy for us for a while now?)

Anyhow, I digress.  Just shut the f*ck up, you slimy toad of a man.  How dare you presume to speak for my nation and me from an unelected, unpaid, adjunct board membership.

Were not the deaths of Iraqi civilians and American military personnel enough for your military-industrial customers that you need more bloodshed?

Oh yeah, one more thing: shut the f*ck up, Perle.

FULL STRAWBERRY MOON – 14-JUN-03

There was a spectacular, near-full moon last night.  The moisture in the air made a lovely glow around the moon.

Tonight’s viewing should be even better; the sky will be clearer, without much humidity.

Check your chart at Sky & Telescope to find out when the moon will appear in the sky in your part of the world.  Hope you’ll be having clear skies, too!

Next month:  Full Buck Moon on 13-JUL-03 – add this date to your calendar!

Build-A-Meme Project:  Regularly Scheduled Chat for Freedom 2004 Forum Members

I’ve been bad; I completely screwed up last week with the attempted chats on Saturday and again on Sunday due to over-commitment.

And I stayed away from the Forums for a handful of days for the same reason; too much going on that needed more brain power than I expected, not leaving much wattage for the Build-A-Meme Project.

So, mea culpa, mea culpa – and let’s get going.

From here on out, every Saturday at 12:00 noon EDT we will have a chat at the Freedom 2004 site.  If you are a registered member, please join us.  (If you aren’t, well, get hopping and join us!)

One additional note: if you’re in the room and I’m not there, do me a favor and copy the chat for transcripts.  Post to the Forums under “Events”, indicating time and date of the chat held.  This thing should have a life of its own without me, although I’ll do my best to be there each Saturday.
