Freedom expressed on the Fourth of July  

 

I spent my last full day of vacation up north observing expressions of freedom.  In some cases, freedom appeared in hilarity; other expressions were manifest in the attempt to be unrestrained and unfettered by the restrictions of life as a human organism.  In all expressions, simple joy appears.

Home Again

Or, in other words, I've got the post-vacation blues.

I'd much rather see the sun rising above the calm of the lake this morning than over this suburban neighborhood.

On the other hand, dozens and dozens of fly and mosquito bites itching at this moment remind me there's trade offs.
