RantsCounterRants:  FASCIST SCUM LIKE GOERING > Irena Briganti

USAToday features an article regarding a discussion led by Tina Brown which included Christiane Amanpour; Amanpour says the press was exercising “self-censorship” by not being thorough and not asking the tough questions.  Note reaction from Fox News in this excerpt:

Brown then asked Amanpour if there was any story during the war that she couldn't report.

"It's not a question of couldn't do it, it's a question of tone," Amanpour said. "It's a question of being rigorous. It's really a question of really asking the questions. All of the entire body politic in my view, whether it's the administration, the intelligence, the journalists, whoever, did not ask enough questions, for instance, about weapons of mass destruction. I mean, it looks like this was disinformation at the highest levels."

Clarke called the disinformation charge "categorically untrue" and added, "In my experience, a little over two years at the Pentagon, I never saw them (the media) holding back. I saw them reporting the good, the bad and the in between."

Fox News spokeswoman Irena Briganti said of Amanpour's comments: "Given the choice, it's better to be viewed as a foot soldier for Bush than a spokeswoman for al-Qaeda."

CNN had no comment.

Briganti, you are a piece of fascist scum; your comments look like this play right out of Nazi Hermann Goering’s handbook:

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."   [ED: emphasis added]

Briganti immediately attacks Amanpour's character, instead of responding directly to the question that Amanpour faced. This isn’t the first time that other members of the press have tried to suppress their own; NBC squashed Ashleigh Banfield’s comments about censorship in the press earlier this year.  Fox does so repeatedly, by actively bashing non-Fox journalists.

So much for the liberal media – they are a mouthpiece for their lying masters in the Bush Administration, whether indirectly by reason of failure to act ethically, or directly, by serving only the interests of the current Administration.

So much for free speech – it doesn’t exist when it is bashed by the current Administration’s mouthpiece.

So much for the truth.

Housekeeping…

It’s housekeeping day here; everything’s getting swept and dusted top to bottom.

Also time to make some spiced peach jam and pickled hot peppers; there are jars of freshly canned tomato sauce cooling on the counter even now.

These are pretty good signs that the autumnal equinox is just around the corner.

What do you do to bring in fall season?
