| Rayne Today Searching for dharma, in spite of the weather...
WARNING: SLOW BLOGGING TODAY… In case you didn’t catch this from my previous post: I’m going to be tied up most of the day with the job-hunt tap-dance routine. I’ll try to come back and post about the interview when I return, nerves and time permitting. Nuts, and I really wanted to blog about last night’s Dean MeetUp this morning! It’ll have to keep. Later!
DharmaSurfing: It’s all about the interview today Already double-checked the job description and payscale at Salary.com with validation from my spouse. What would he pay someone in this position? It’s pretty close – not great, but within the range. The sitter is lined up to pick up the kids after school; just have to call her when I leave to make sure there’s no further complications. Have to re-hem my black pants this morning after finding them not in tip-top shape. Touch up the polish on my black shoes. Find those damned pearl stud earrings. (Sorry, Mark, I feel naked without them!) Extra copies of my resume printed, my references lined up and printed, samples of similar work printed, all neatly tucked away in my portfolio. Double-check Mapquest for the location of the office. Hit the car wash on the way out of town. (Filled the tank last night, all set there.) Hubby wanted to meet me for lunch before the interview at a restaurant near the interview location; as much as I appreciate the idea, I think I’ll be a bundle of nerves. I’d probably spill something on myself if I eat just before the interview. Worse -- I could get sick after eating on a nervous stomach. Sorry, honey, not today. Yeah, no pressure at all here. NOT. Hubby had a very bad day yesterday. It’s becoming clear that not only is his plant going to take lifeblood to stay in business, but the corporation is becoming a toxic place to work. He says to me this morning that I’d better get this job because he might be unemployed by the end of the day. Ha-hahaha, really, he says, no pressure, I’m just kidding… Sure. That’s why I don’t have the jitters like I do right now. Oh yeah, add that to the pre-interview To-Do List: pack some Pepto-Bismol tablets and some ibuprofen in my briefcase…
