This picture suggests that Halloween will be dark this year, with many leaves under trick-or-treaters' feet. Better find the glowsticks and child-sized flashlights. 10:11:08 AM
Our resident blog statistician, Dave Pollard of Salon blog How to Save the World, provides an insightful analysis of blog data which outlines what blog readers and bloggers expect from blogging. It’s very helpful stuff if you blog and want to write for a broad audience. It wouldn’t hurt either to read this statement by “bones” who explains in unsparing terms why he f*cking hates weblogs. Warning: generous use of the f-bomb – but what a hoot! I almost wet my pants laughing! There are a few important nuggets here, though; it’s helpful as a blogger that 1) blogs are not universally appreciated, 2) that having a degree of focus may increase reader’s appreciation for a particular blog, and 3) there are among us many suffering from Asperger’s or borderline autism who generally dislike interacting with people and are easily annoyed by others. Heh. [Thanks to the Scobleizer for sharing “Bones” statement on blogging]
