| Rayne Today Searching for dharma, in spite of the weather... Project: Global Movie II
Sounds like Phil could use a diversion this weekend while visiting the ‘rents; he’s already got a couple of DVD’s in hand. What about you? Are you up to watching a movie with us? Phil’s holding The Quiet American and About Schmidt. I’d prefer The Quiet American (I’ve seen About Schmidt already, sorry). Anybody else have a preference? Any other suggestions? What about timing? For Global Movie III – say in another week or so – let’s shoot for The Limey (mentioned in my last post. Whadya’ say?
Mmm-mmm. There’ve only been a handful of voices that do it for me. Deep, resonant voices like Sean Connery, Richard Burton, Raoul Julia, the kind that make me weak in the knees; just hearing their intonations causes a physical reaction. Sadly, two have departed, making for a shortage of those voices-like-sex. But I’d forgotten Tim Curry! Fortunately I can get lots of him doing the Lemony Snicket audio books. The Salon review is dead-on, he’s a perfect fit for the role. Check out the snippet offered in the review and see if you don’t agree. Who will be the next voice? Dunno’, I don’t recall hearing one on the horizon, but at least I’ve got a fix that will last me until he arrives.
