West coasters, if you’re reading this and the weather is good, run right NOW and check the full moon setting in the west!  It was crystal clear this morning, all its features more visible than usual. 

My daughter said it looked as if had a dent in it.  Well, yes, a bunch of very large ones -- valleys and pockmarks of meteors, nearly visible from Earth this morning.

If it’s cold and clear again overnight, the setting moon should be beautiful tomorrow morning for you Midwesterners and East coasters.

Be sure to check Sky & Telescope for the location of the moon this evening and tomorrow morning; Saturn should still be visible near the moon during the evening hours.
