| Rayne Today Searching for dharma, in spite of the weather... Bug A bug is visiting my son right now, the same one that visited me a week ago. It took a detour over the weekend and visited my daughter. It's the little guy's turn and he's got it the worst of us. 100.3F temperature with sore throat and icky ears, nasty disposition, visibly ill. Clingy and whiny, nothing makes him feel better. There's nothing quite like getting a call from the school in the middle of the day; you know as soon as they tell you it's the school calling that it's not good and you'll have to leave off whatever you're doing and hope for the best. Last week I had a lucky break -- although I know my son didn't feel that way. The school called, said he'd butted heads by accident with another child. His top front teeth were loose and bloodied. Another school, another school secretary might have taken it as odd when I said, No problem, that's good! My son's front teeth are slow in coming out; they were already quite loose and uncooperative about making room for adult teeth. Now they are a bit looser; we make bets every morning as to which tooth will pop out and when. Serendipitous help came in the form of two kindergartners colliding in the hallway. No such luck today, though. It wasn't one of those easy, Put-some-ice-on-it calls. It was a Come-and-get-him call. Poor baby. Let's hope we don't have another one of those tomorrow. 10:22:24 PM
