| Rayne Today Searching for dharma, in spite of the weather... Theoretical question Well, kind of. Can you think of a business whose website is actually a blog, who uses a blog to market its product? I'm open to examples. And no, please, not Scoble!!! Agh, NOT Scoble! 5:40:58 PM Yeah. How about that economic turnaround, huh? I know of companies that are trying to win more business, but they can't compete because they no longer have enough cash. Hanging on by the skin of their teeth for the last several years has eaten into cash reserves, frittered away saleable assets; now they can't accept large orders for capital equipment because they have no leverage. That's the next challenge to this economy -- hiring will continue to lag because any cash on hand is required to get and keep more work, not employees. Of course this means continued pressure to move jobs offshore whenever possible; this in turn reduces aggregate demand for products here in this country. If inflation gets worse, it could get trickier. If the dollar's value continues to plummet, it could help with increasing sales overseas, but there's still the issue of insufficient cash on hand for many smaller companies. Batten down the hatches, kiddies, don't loosen up the purse strings just yet. We could be in for a long, slow, grim ride. 5:04:48 PM
