| Rayne Today Searching for dharma, in spite of the weather... Lost time Every day brings something new to chap my chops. Usually it's just a fact of life under the Bush Regime. Today's complaint is surprisingly apolitical. I lost an hour. Dammitall, of all weekends to lose an hour to SAVINGS of time...why this one? Now I have to wait until the weather is once again cold and clear, when the leaves have sprung, greened and died before I get that hour back. One fat lot of good it does me in the depths of October. I want that hour now, while I'm rushing to pack and clean house before vacation. While I'm up to my ears in kids' swim suits and shorts and sandals, trying to sort out what will fit and what must be handed down and on. Come October I'll only squander that recovered hour watching an old movie while sipping coffee some cool and clear Sunday morning, the smell of dead leaves and frost hanging in the air. Worse yet, I'll have to negotiate and nag bedtimes from here on out through the end of the school year. Neither of my lovely charges will want to be in bed as the sun begins to set; it won't be dark enough for their animal needs. Only dark will quiet their bodies and minds; it will be torment from here on out each evening. Damnable Daylight Savings Time! 2:12:18 PM For the love of Mike, this Administration is a bunch of morons! They can't find their collective behind with two hands; they could probably use a major clue at this point. Here it is: Butt the hell out already! Can't you see the best thing is to keep your dirty mitts off this 9/11 investigation and let it run its course? The more you mess with it -- like the nuclear war of bashing on Clarke (including Frist's beserk freak-out on the Senate floor), the vacillation on Condi's testimony, the flip-flopping of presidential and vice-presidential interviews -- you make this far worse for yourselves. Here's a second suggestion, since I'm feeling magnanimous in even making the above plea: try owning up to your role in the string of failures. There's plenty of fault to go around, after all. And 9/11 happened on YOUR watch, nobody else's. Just suck it up and do the right thing, make a Mea Culpa. Maxima-size that culpa. Fercryingoutloud, do we have to explain the concept of "doing the right thing" to you, too? 9:29:26 AM
