| Rayne Today Searching for dharma, in spite of the weather... Proud member of the Reality-Based Community Invocation The vice president invoked the memory of Pearl Harbor, the article says. Of course he did. Of course he compared that event with 9/ll. It's what the PNAC had hoped for back in the late 90's, "a catastrophic and catalyzing event like a new Pearl Harbor", that would set in motion their plan for "Rebuilding America's Defenses". Isn't that just so nifty how that works out, all neat and tidy-like? What unmitigated crap. It's this kind of nonsense that makes it all too easy to think the Bushies had some hand in kicking off this whole thing. These people have danced on the graves of the 3000 people killed on 9/11, used them as justification for anything and everything they do. Yet they cannot understand why insurgents in Iraq would want to take down our troops...forgetting that the insurgents are fueled by the death of 100,000 of their kinsman. Or that the Palestinians have numerous tragic deaths of youths, children, killed by U.S.-supported Israeli troops to fuel their anger and the anger of the Muslim world. Or the hundreds of thousands of innocents killed in Afghanistan and Chenya, by Putin and his predecessors, the very Putin whose soul Bush looked into so deeply. These peoples of the Middle East and the Muslim world have suffered far more losses than Pearl Harbor or 9/11 combined; until we elect leaders who'll recognize this and understand that their lack of compassion let alone their lack of conservatism, we can expect that no amount of funding for "Rebuilding America's Defenses" will be enough. I will be so happy for the day when I can write about this administration in past tense. 11:49:52 PM On Faux News at 1:20 pm EST featured in Dayside with Linda Vester:
