| Rayne Today Searching for dharma, in spite of the weather... Proud member of the Reality-Based Community Highly Recommended Read This is a great read. It's not a short little snippet; give yourself time to read it and digest it. I think it's dead on. Let me know what you think about it. 10:49:17 AM Wow. It looks like a house. I'm very much overdue on updates here, will upload pictures later today to get caught up. Behind the blog scenes a flurry of activity has taken place. First floor deck and wall framing, second floor deck and wall framing, roof trusses, sheathing on the exterior and roof decks, interior framing -- all of it has been completed. Even as I speak the roofers are putting shingles on the roof deck and should be done by the end of the day. HVAC gets roughed in today and tomorrow. Windows and doors go in on Friday. Electrical roughed in today through Monday. Hubby and I pull the phone, CAT-5 and coax cable on Saturday. And then a very, very slow week in honor of the ancient midwestern tribal tradition we call "Deer Season". Things might be a bit slow for a week on site; it could be worse, since the actual firearms season is two weeks long. But once the first few days of deer camp are under their belts or the first deer has been taken, these guys will be back at it. Christmas is coming, after all, and they want their cash. The week of the 22nd will see roughed in plumbing and the garage, driveway and walkway slabs poured. The basement may also get poured -- but all of this concrete work will depend on the weather. We've been blessed so far with little rain and warmer than usual temperatures, but I don't give hope for this to continue. It's late autumn. It's Michigan. No escaping these facts. More later; I have the morning off today, but I also am overdue to meet the electrician about the lighting in the kitchen. He thinks I need 600+ watts of can lights alone in the kitchen; I beg to differ and I've just finished a reflected ceiling light plan to prove it. Later, gator. 8:01:51 AM
