| Rayne Today Searching for dharma, in spite of the weather... Proud member of the Reality-Based Community Another question of morals Somebody explain this to me. The tsunami spawned by the Indonesian earthquake killed 50,000 or more human beings; the potential for at least that many more to die from unsafe water and the spread of illness is great, let alone those that are injured and may yet die from their injuries. This administration offers 15 million dollars to aid the affected countries -- a little less than two million dollars per country affected. But 30 to 40 million dollars will be spent on the second inauguration of George W. Bush? This is far more offensive than wearing white at one's second wedding. Nine parties to fete this guy and his toadies, people who've already been in office and done a pissy job for the last four years, and we can't cough up but 15 million dollars to help our fellow human beings in their greatest hour of need? It's immoral, an outrage. And it's no wonder that we are perceived as despised and spoiled despots. Somebody explain to me why this president is the paragon of virtue, please. I just don't get it. 2:34:22 PM
