This is it -- the biggest single thing in my life this next year.
I feel guilty about this, unfortunately, in spite of all the work we've put into this and will put into this and the years of scrimping and saving to get to this point.
There are people who have lost their chance for this through no fault of their own. There are those who lack for the simplest bit of cover over their heads today. I think of them now, knowing that they may even have had something like this and it simply washed away.
I wish them all a fair chance to have shelter and a family working beside them, healthy and safe.
And I wish you all the same, too.
