| Rayne Today Searching for dharma, in spite of the weather... Proud member of the Reality-Based Community Thank you all Thank you all, the prayers and kind thoughts may have helped in the darkest time. I've been told the finish contractor made through the surgery; there was only the slimmest of chances he'd make it through the procedure. The family is now waiting. Will he regain consciousness? will he recover some or all of his faculties? will he have another stroke or bleed more in another location of his brain? will they be spared the hardest decision that any family member would ever have to make about a loved one? I just can't fathom this, can't get my head around it; after all the hoopla of the Schiavo story, here it is, up close and personal, sidling up to my own life. I am blessed that it is not a family member, and yet this person is still family. How could he work on my family's home, making suggestions on or crafting objects that we will use and see every day without in some way being family? I won't have to be in the waiting room or next to the bedside; I won't have to answer that question if and when it comes. But we'll still be touched deeply, knowing this person invested his last normal work days into our house and into our lives. Sending thoughts and wishes of patience and fortitude to the loved ones around him for the hours and days ahead. Thank you all again. 9:38:14 PM
"Ownership Society", my eye. As a shareholder I'd rather own something other than Tom DeLay's ugly mug. I sure hope anyone who still thinks that phasing out Social Security for personal accounts is a good thing realizes that this is where their investment would end up: buying golf for Tom DeLay instead of in their pocket as a dividend check. Anyhow...consider buying a billboard in Texas. Your fellow Americans picked this billboard out of 20,000 options -- and the folks in Texas picked this, too. Wonder why it was so popular? 11:45:13 AM
