Every time I see the satellite photos I feel sick to my stomache, feel like breaking into tears.
I'm sending my prayers and best wishes to my friends in Lafayette and Plaquemine.
And the same to one of my favorite cities in the world, New Orleans.
I cannot imagine what this coming storm will do to this beloved place; I can't imagine Jackson Square or the Garden District underneath an eighteen-foot wave of water.
Or worse.
Having seen what Andrew did to Homestead in the 90's, I can only pray for a fluke, can only hope beyond hope that some miracle will help NOLA through.
If you are north or west of Louisiana, I hope you'll post any help you can offer. I wish I could, but I'm afraid I'm more than a decent day's drive north.
Best to you all.
