I wrote this elsewhere:
"... Grover Norquist wanted a government diminished to a size where he could drown it in a bathtub.
That bathtub is the city of New Orleans."
Imagine my rage at this moment. I have been crying in front of my kids as I watch the television; they ask why I cry.
This is NOT what our country is supposed to look like; we do not leave babies and sick and disabled and the poor in squalor that rivals the poorest nations in the world, I tell them.
An enormous f*cking bathtub, filled with diluted sewage and toxic chemicals. That is what has become of New Orleans under the guidance of total incompetents.
This is what these fascists have done to this country, put us in a position where storms can do what no terrorist could dream. All in the name of so-called conservatism.
Conserving what, I ask? Certainly not this country or its citizens.
