An informal test (read: massive mp3 download) of the file sharing software Bearshare 4.0.7 strongly indicates that both the gnutella client and the network itself has become quite a bit better over the last months. It's certainly well worth looking at. If the built-in ad-ware is too annoying, there is a $20 Pro option.

Looking for the Bali Bomber

I want to recommend Jason Burke's article in the Guardian/Observer about 'Hambali,' Islamic terrorism in the Far East, and of course the Bali bombing.

What struck me pretty early is how totally incompetent Indonesian security forces seem to be, with crazy rumours flying back and forth. I hope they manage to prove me wrong.
