Charges filed against "Muslim" Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson was officially charged for nine counts of child molestation in Santa Barbara, Ca, today. At the same time, the New York Post claims that the so-called king of pop has just converted to the Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan's highly controversial and racist brand of Islam (worst headline on the topic: Michael Jackson is now Jacko X).

Now, the NY Post is a horrible rag, so this can't be taken as gospel, but I have to say it would fit a pattern. Michael Jackson grew up associated with the Jehovah's Witnesses, but disassociated himself a decade or so ago (side fact: Prince has later joined the JWs). Later, he was at best duped into supporting his then-wife Lisa Marie Presley's Church of Scientology, a totally ruthless sect of the worst type. If he now joins Nation of Islam, it confirms a pattern of a man being duped to join and support controversial and abusive sects.

But then again, you only have to see his recent mug shot (which I am very sick & tired of seeing already) to know the man is a few cards short of a full deck.

Amnesty finds new priorities

A mass-murderer is captured, and Amnesty International shows its priorities by condemning a few pictures of him being released. Does Amnesty at all stick its head up these days unless when it condemns the USA? It's become a pure political propaganda organisation for the hapless left, no longer an organisation fighting to help the oppressed and the tortured worldwide.

Spectacular and wonderful! I am even considering forgiving Peter Jackson for totally butchering Tolkien's original story.

Thousands of women call off sex strike

Around 6000 women in north-western Cameroon has called off a two month sex strike, called because women were angry that cattle destroyed crops.

Acting through the local women's secret society, they also took seven traditional rulers hostage. A traditional cleansing ceremony of the village of Aghem, in Wum region, and the village's rulers has been conducted.

"The cleansing ceremony is very important because the gods of our land are angry with the evil that has gripped the village," said Elizabeth Ewi, a spokeswoman from the Ndouh Fumbwi secret society that called the strike.

We congratulate the Cameroonian men with today's decision.

Poll: Norwegians agree with Bush about Saddam's fate

Iraqis ridicule captured Saddam

A poll shows that ~70% of Norwegians agree with George Bush that the Iraqis themselves should be allowed to try Saddam Hussein, even if they pass a death sentence. Only ~20% argue that the international community should push for him not being executed.

It's time for the leftists who think thay can spin an anti-US story out of Saddam's capture to do a reality check.Yes, we are against the death penalty in this country. The EU is opposed to capital pubishment, and so is the UN. However, out of all potential capital cases in the world it's ludicruous to start with Saddam Hussein's. The man is beyond doubt guilty of the foulest crimes committed over the last decades.

Opponents of the death penalty (of which I count myself) should certainly find a better candidate for a campaign. And this is what most people realise. If the Iraqi people wants to execute Saddam Hussein after he has received a fair trial, we simply have no right to refuse them that form of closure.

Remember, Norway executed Quisling and twenty-six other Norwegian traitors and war criminals after World War II.

Picture shows Iraqi demonstrators openly ridiculing the once-feared dictator.

Smear of eco-skeptic Lomborg reversed

The Danish science ministry has harshly chastised its own Committees on Scientific Dishonesty (DSCD) for its emotional attack on Bjørn Lomborg's book "The Skeptical Environmentalist."

The Ministry, which is responsible for the DSCD, has today released a critical assessment of the Committee's January 6 ruling. The Ministry finds that the DCSD judgment was not backed up by documentation, and was "completely void of argumentation" for the claims of dishonesty and lack of good scientific practice.

The Ministry characterises the DCSD's treatment of the case as "dissatisfactory", "deserving criticism" and "emotional" and points out a number of significant errors. The DSCD's verdict has consequently been remitted.

While there was certainly basis for criticism of and disagreement with Lomborg, the attacks from environmentalists were so rabid, emotional and personal that one could be tempted to wonder if he was hitting a bit too close to home.
