Qureia family company accused of profiteering on security fence
Palestinian prime minister Ahmed Qureia is struggling with accusations that his family's company, Al-Quds Cement, has been delivering cement to the hated Israeli security wall. If the accusations prove correct, he will most likely be forced to resign.

Kerry intern story is officially a media (and blog) feeding frenzy
Kerry hater Mickey Kaus has for the occasion dug out some old-old vague accusations against John Kerry:
September 2, 1998 Wednesday FIRST EDITION [...]
Question of the day: Who was the statuesque blonde strutting out of Sen. John Kerry's palatial Louisburg Square manse late Monday night when Kerry's wife, heiress Teresa Heinz, was on Nantucket?
We are told she is [name omitted] a 22-year-old Harvard student and former model who, Kerry's people claim, was dropping off a resume.
Our spies on the Square say the stunning Southern gal, dressed in oh-so-chic black, arrived at Kerry's townhouse around 11:15 p.m. and left just before the clock struck 12.
[snip]
Which leads us to ask: In the age of Monica Lewinsky, is it smart for a senator with presidential aspirations to be entertaining attractive women when the wife is away?
"He was very kind to me. He offered to pass my resume along," [the student] told the Track.
The Georgetown grad said she was not at Kerry's home at midnight - more like 10:45 p.m. - and that she would have dropped off the resume earlier except that it was locked in her brother's apartment.
Both [the student] and Kerry's people insist the encounter was completely innocent. They said the senator met [the student] on Nantucket earlier this summer, then again last weekend. ...
From the description, it seems Kerry has a way better taste in women than Bill Clinton. That is something. On the other hand, he supposedly spent less than 45 minutes with some bombshell...
PS: Harvard student and model? Should be something for Squirm!
PS2: Blogger WatchBlog actually scooped Drugged on the Kerry intern rumour. Via InstaPundit. Yay for blogs (well...)!
PS3: If this story turns out false and is debunked, as it may well do, will it not hurt Bush, who will be blamed for very primitive mudslinging (even though he is unlikely to have anything to do with it)?
PS4: If the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy(tm) was behind this story, would they not be better off waiting until Kerry had secured the nomination, instead of propelling a probably even stronger Edwards to the top?

Drudge: Kerry campaign will implode over intern sex affair
The Drudge Report (yes, that dirty partisan hack) claims that rumours about an affair with an intern is haunting the Kerry campaign today, and that the accusations are true. His opponents know about it, and expect it will sink his campaign. Supposedly, Kerry has convinced the intern to leave the country.
It worked with Gary Hart. It didn't work with Bill Clinton.

Mel Gibson: My wife goes to hell!
Mel Gibson may love his wife, but he also worships a a God that plans to torture his wife and darned near everybody else in hell for eternity.
“There is no salvation for those outside the Church,” Gibson replied. “I believe it.” He elaborated: “Put it this way. My wife is a saint. She’s a much better person than I am. Honestly. She’s, like, Episcopalian, Church of England. She prays, she believes in God, she knows Jesus, she believes in that stuff. And it’s just not fair if she doesn’t make it, she’s better than I am. But that is a pronouncement from the chair. I go with it.”
The online poll accompanying this article asks: "Is Mel Gibson one bead short of a full rosary?" That's an easy question.

Electable?
I think this article is essentially right: John Kerry has all but won the democratic primary without having his much touted "electibility" even tested.
In the general election, Kerry will either be much too leftist to stand much of a chance against George Bush, or he will have to move himself to the center and be open to charges that he is inconsistent and hypocritical.

Harvard approves "porn magazine"
Harvard's Committee on College Life voted to approve Squirm, a student-run softcore porn magazine featuring "nude pictures of Harvard undergraduates and articles about sexual issues."
And why shouldn't they? Yet, expect controversy.
CCL member and Assistant Dean of the College Paul J. McLoughlin defends the decision:
“Committee members really sort of look at it as, ‘Is it something if the student body would want? Is it feasible?’ Not ‘Would I join?’” McLoughlin said.
Not to mention: 'would I want to see a hot student body.'

"Dirty Kuffar"
I get a lot of google traffic today on the lyrics of the British Islamofascist rap song "Dirty Kuffar" (Kuffar is Arabic for non-believer). I wrote about it here.
