Angry "anti-racists" threaten to sue blogger
Leif Knutsen of Heretic's Almanac also blogged about the kristallnacht march which refused jews access. He emailed the SOS Rasisme people to ask some pointed questions. Well, it seems they don't want that debate:
I got an angry e-mail back that threatens me with a lawsuit for libel if I should even think of accusing SOS Rasisme of antisemitism. I'm told they know all about the laws for libel and defamation in Norway, and have "plenty" of lawyers to go after me. They also said they'd be keeping a close watch on my Norwegian website if I should step over the line.
I take that as an admission of guilt.
Obviously an "anti-racist" organisation has a dilemma when its primary fight is against anti-Muslim and anti-Arab agitation, and it finds that its clients are unashamedly and openly anti-Semitic. It can then choose to do the right thing, which is to say that anti-Semitism among immigrants and their leftist allies is equally detestable as racism from Norwegians towards immigrants, or it can do like SOS Rasisme: pretend the problem doesn't exist and threaten to sue everyone who argues otherwise.

Let's do a never again about Arafat, ok?
Now that Yasser Arafat is buried in a condition of general chaos and mayhem that would make him feel right at home, it is time to find out what lesson should be learned from this mess. What mess? Whatever insanity catapulted a ruthless terrorist to become a respected, legitimate spokesman and leader for an oppressed people.
If history is repeating, in some decades Osama Bin Laden will be speaking to the UN General Assembly, shaking hands with a US President, be praised in Europe and finally receive a tear-dripping euology in the world press. It sounds impossible, you say? Well, I hope you're right.
I hope the world has learned that once someone takes to slaughtering innocents, taking school children hostage and hijacking airplanes nothing good can ever come from attributing to him an ounce of credibility whatever cause he is fighting for or against.

Unknown to no one
Last year, when hearing about five young Iraqis starting a boy band, I could of course not resist making some bad jokes about them being inspired by bands like Westlife and Backstreet Boys.
Now I feel a bit bad about that, because one of the band members today left a comment in my old blog entry.
So the least I can do is to tell you all that Unknown to no one has a website up where you can see pictures and listen to samples of their work. It's certainly a good sign they are still working on their dream more than a year later, and I wish they all remain safe and sound and can fulfill their dreams.

California Cartwheel Cops
An 11 year old California girl has been suspended from school for doing cartwheels and handstands during lunch.
Deirdre Faegre was suspended for a week after repeatedly disobeying school officials who told her not to perform gymnastic stunts during lunchtime.
The school argued she could hurt herself and others and cause general harm to the non-gymnastic way of life.
Deirdre's father, Leland Faegre, said it was absurd to suspend his daughter for doing gymnastics when students were allowed to play basketball and other sports.
"Contact sports, apparently, are fine. But this one is so dangerous it requires the cartwheel cops," Faegre said.
Sometimes it scares you what kind of people are given responsibility for looking after small kids.
