Surprise petrol rationing in Iran, one of the world's largest oil producers, caused riots across the country according to sporadic reports. There is no doubt that at least two petrol stations were set alight by angry rioters in Tehran, unconfirmed reports say many more were burning (with video).
I wished I could believe the optimistic predictions that the current unrest in Iran will spark the fall of the Mullahs. However, historically, angering the middle class is oten the last thing a hated regime does before it is hanging in the trees. Stay tuned.
