L.A. HIGH Life is so wild. Example: my doctor is a Porn Star. Well, that depends on what you consider Porn. He's a famous Nude Physique Model whose pictures are Solo but did involve erections. He also can be considered a "star" (versus just an "actor" or "model") because he has quite a following. In fact, there are a number of Internet Sites where you could go and find pictures of him Right Now. Aside from all that, I also consider him a Good Friend, a great Person and an Excellent Doctor. I came thisclose to dating him since we met in a social situation where he gave me his Phone Number but I was already dating someone at the time and he met someone and got hitched and the timing just didn't jibe. Oh well, I still love him. Today I had an appointment to get my Bloodwork done and to do some other tests and discovered there's a new nurse. This nurse is a Porn Star, meaning he's done a large number of films involving penetration and you could conceivably go to any number of Web Sites Right Now and find pictures of him doing any number of things. Turns out he's also a great guy and we'd met before a few years ago when he was manning the door for an Orgy I went to in SF. He did a great job drawing my blood (no pain, no drama) and is adorable and sexy and I was glad he's there.
This is my life and always has been and if I do anything in my Blog, it's let you know what it's like to be Hugh Elliott because sometimes it's like a really wild movie where even I sit back and just say "Wow". Wow. |

DON'T TOUCH ME THERE There's been a big Brew-Hah-Hah in the blogosphere lately about Men vs. Women bloggers. I'm telling you, sometimes you Straight People are just so cute. Really. I just want to take you in my arms and hug you. "Who's my wittle stwaight person? Who's my wittle breeder? That's wight. Woo are!" The basic fact is unless you go and read Every Blog On The Planet (which I doubt this Lisa chick has, she barely looks at her own it seems) anything is just going to be a Big Hypothetical Generalization. Especially since her unspoken implication is Straight Male Bloggers and Straight Female Bloggers. Poor thing. No wonder she's become a Suburban Soccer Mom. If she'd done a quick tour of Queer Blogs she'd find we aren't (or at least the Good Ones) so angst-ridden about our Big Meaning or Gender Generalities or whatever you want to call it. There are tons of Queer Bloggers and alot are great in that they push the limits of what Blogging is, a role we Queers champion in general. In my experience, Gay Men Bloggers are either Media Whores (like me) or "I-Hate-My-Job-And-Here's-Why" bloggers, more in the vein of what Lisa thinks women's blogs are like (except funnier which is an automatic Defense Mechanism learned through years of deflecting abuse by our peers). There are a number of Lezzie Blogs but to be honest, they're a little humorless and not very liberating. In the spirit of things I once did a quick tour of some Dyke Sites and even found a group of them I thought sounded pretty cool. Unlike Salon, this group was choosy and had alot of rules which of course only made me want to join more. One of the rules, however, was there was only One Man Blog and apparently this was after long deliberation and discussion amongst the members. Being the Polite Queer I am, I wrote to ask if I couldn't be a part of their Cunt Coven, I could at least link to them. To cut to the chase, I never heard from them. Nada, nilch, nuttin'. Not even a "Fuck you, you Cock-carrying Man!" Well! If nothing else, I can take a hint and quickly dropped the whole thing. The last thing I want is some Internet Campaign championed by a group of vindictive lesbians, bad enough I have to deal with the Yahoos I butt heads with already. I write about what I know and avoid the Guy In The Diner point of view. You know, the Loser who sits at the counter and has a Big Opinion about the country and the Prez and War and we should do this, blah blah blah. I follow politics but I certainly don't presume to have any expertise in the area. Other things - fashion, media, celebrity, queers - I have full confidence and experience to expound upon. I have worked intimately in many aspects of all of these and my opinion is not some Pipe Dream, it's based on actually having been in the Trenchs.
My Recommendation List to the right is actually pretty varied. There are some great Queer Blogs, alot of great women blogs and even a few great "Straight Male" blogs. What they all share however, is a lack of Pretension and Grandiosity which "Lisa" finds a particularly Straight Male trait. On this point I agree with her but I consider it a compliment not to be included in that group. Ew, who wants to listen to Joe Nobody talk about the Way He Thinks Things Should Be Run? Not me, not (it seems) most women and certainly not any Interesting Queers. |
