LOOK SHARP The inimitable Reverse Cowgirl has revamped the look of her blog and it's really bitchin so go check it out (the link is on the right). Those of you thinking of starting a blog (or those who have one and think it looks lame), I highly reccomend you go and experiment. It's actually alot easier than you'd think. I personally had no experience with HTML or webdesign before starting SRO only two months ago. You can start with a "standard" Radio Userland template and take baby steps by changing the background colors or typestyles. A great resource for this is Webmonkey: HTML Cheatsheat which tells you Color Codes and all sorts of gobbeldy-gook to use to change the look of your page. I think the way a person's blog looks reflects alot about who they are. As in "real life", what you have to say about things has less impact when you're wearing just a t-shirt and jeans like everyone else versus when you take the time and dress in a manner that reflects something about your personality. Same here in the Blogoshpere. I happen to have a professional background in graphics which helped but anyone should give it a go and play around with something you like. What have you got to lose?
Again, congrats to the RCG and good luck to those who feel rightly inspired by her fun and glamourous new digs! |
