BREATH IN, BREATH OUT

A few people, when I tell them I Blog and after I explain what a Blog is, ask "What's that like? Exposing yourself like that?"

Well... it's called Life. It's not easy all the time and there's alot of shit to go through before you start to feel like you actually inhabit the Planet. By that point, everyone's seen the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, not alot of point in Pretending anymore. Go ahead, pour it out honey.

Uh, ok.

The Reverse Cowgirl (Susannah Breslin) and I had a great e-mail conversation today and she gave me some smart advice for my blog. The most pertinant was "Just sing" along with some other gems. Of course I thought about what she'd written, sitting in the Apple Store at The Grove Shopping Mall here in Los Angeles tonight. I was waiting at the Genius Bar ( Applespeak for "Information") watching a totally bitchin' woman sitting at the counter taking apart her computor. She was like "I am so a Glamzon Actress" kind of beautiful and happily unscrewing the memory from the hard drive, her laptop pieces strewn like RoadKill over the Bar. I was properly awed and immediately said to her "You Rock. You're like some Fierce Secret Service Woman!"

We spent the next half hour dissecting and discussing the various computor organs she removed piece by piece. She said "Pretty women aren't expected to know how to do this. I walked into a Loew's to buy an axe and they looked at me like I'm a Man Killer."

Well the Manolo Blahniks help. I was immediately reminded of how I've also succumbed to people's picture of me and the picture I have of myself and SRO.

The result is some changes, both ones you can see here and ones you can't see. I added a Self-Portrait on the side because I bet people have an idea of what I look like based on my writing and my exerience with HIV and having AIDS. It's not true. I changed the description line in the SRO title, an idea first suggested by the generous Mark Hoback. I promised the RCG I would stop flaming all the tired-ass, lazy, boring, pretentious, homophobic blogs I stumble across and avoid their pointless, illogical Drama.

Startingggg... now.

I've been extremely moved by the e-mails and response to some of the things I've posted recently. Paulapallooza, the RCG and my Real Live Friend, The Preacher. At the risk of pulling a Halle Berry, let me just add "... and the Rest of You. "

Contrary to what people might expect given my "circumstances", I live an extremely charmed existance. I am honored and moved by the people I've come across.
