THREE = TWO THOUSAND IN BLOGGER YEARS

Oh, I almost forgot. This week was the Third Year Birthday of Standing Room Only. Ta-da!

Three years is not, in the Scheme of Things, very long. However if I take it out of the Scheme, it is apparently a Long Time in Blogger World.

It seems like a long time to me. I can’t remember Before SRO. I can’t remember a time when I didn't scan the internet and think “Hmm, I wonder if I could post about this.” I don’t remember a time when I had an extra minute or so and didn't think “Let me check to see if I have any new comments.”

Because I am (as in so many things) a dinosaur in this area, I will give any of you who have fairly recently begun to blog three pieces of advice:

1. Keep it personal. No one cares about your opinion of Bush unless you are in a position to actually do something about Bush. You probably aren’t since you’re reading SRO. Nuff said. Political opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

2. Keep it precise. Yes, unicorns in general are fascinating but what I want to read about is the unicorn you met in line at the grocery store.

3. Keep it Peppy. Honestly, if we had a “Bad Things Happen To Me” Contest, I would probably win. Alot of people would beat you. It doesn’t take skill to talk about your problems. It takes SuperPowers, however, to gleam something good from this quagmire we call life.

Extra Bonus Advice : None of these three things mean anything. HA-ha! Just shut up and dance.
