ACT OF LOVE DESPERATION

OK, I’ll be honest with you.

Many of the forthcoming posts here on SRO are going to be about this whole Pet Portrait/Act of Love thing. Sound boring? Who cares? If it’s not something you’re interested in reading about, I suggest you bail now.

So, You ask, why are you still posting about it Hugh? Good question, You. There are several reasons :

1. It is currently using alot of my Mind Space and that’s what this blog is about.

2. It’s a potential ongoing money maker for me and frankly I could really (really) use the cash.

3. It’s also illuminated some thoughts about creating. What does that mean?

I’ve been struggling and fretting over this issue of creation lately. Specifically, if I continue this Act of Love idea and create pictures of pets, how can I be assured I have the talent to make this worthwhile? Sure, there are the accolades I get from You, my readers here on SRO, and the compliments I get from those I make pictures for but I’m a little concerned about my ability to create a continually viable product. I’m an artist and suffer. So shoot me.

Also, for the first time, I’m making an appeal to readers of SRO to make a donation via the Paypal button to the right. I’ve had this link up for awhile and have never addressed it here in a post but the truth is, Polly and I could use the support. I am overwhelmed recently by a number of financial problems (including needing new tires for my car). So if you’re in a position to contribute [emphasis important] we would greatly appreciate the help. Asking this is not easy for me, in fact it’s very hard for me to ask for support, but it’s something we could definitely use.

I’m also making Pet Portraits (aka Act of Love) for donations. If you’re interested, contact me and I’ll be happy to work on your own special picture of your beloved dog or cat (or bunny) for whatever amount you deem appropriate.

Whew. Deep breath. I did it. Thanks.
