The Black Commentator: "Howard Dean's December 7 speech is the most important statement on race in American politics by a mainstream white politician in nearly 40 years. Nothing remotely comparable has been said by anyone who might become or who has been President of the United States since Lyndon Johnson's June 4, 1965 affirmative action address to the graduating class at Howard University."

More Not Geniuses: I Don't Get It. "Now, I realize I am not a genius, but there is something over at Pandagon and at Matthew Yglesias where Jesse and Big Media Matt keep calling the President unelectable. I suppose he may be unelectable, but mostly I think..." It took me a minute or three to figure out but I agree with them that our current President is unelectable.

More from the Times: 'Steak and Shake' Takes On a Whole New Meaning: "It's tough trying to conduct an interview while at the next table a voluptuous woman in spangles has dropped her top and is treating one happy executive to a lap dance. It was even tougher, I soon discovered, trying to eat a steak dinner while another enterprising gal gyrated her bare buttocks just inches from the entree."

Meg's Food and Wine Page: "Not that I'm advocating for people to drink Boone's Farm (yuck) but it will be interesting to see if California can come down off its 'Emperor's New Clothes,' 'Fine Wine' high-horse and make something that these adorable twenty-somethings will actually drink. Used to be, they would start with white zinfandel. But that is soooo not cool these days."
