The L Street Tavern in South Boston, frequented by South Boston locals and made famous by some movie, has gone upscale

My first response to this was to be upset, but then I remembered an argument I had with a Harvard student living in Central Square and sporting a "Save Central Square" button—I made her cry when I mentioned that she was the problem, not the developers. Neighborhoods don't go upscale or get "malled" unless people with disposable income move in. While I haven't considered Southie, plenty of my friends have moved in and I've been wanting for ages to explore the new social scene. I guess I'm part of the problem, too.
