You know, you think you’re coping with life just fine, and then you find yourself crying over the lyrics to some dumb song from your kid’s Music Together class:
Swim across the ocean,
Swim across the sea,
Swim across the ocean,
And then swim right home to me.
Pathetic.
It didn’t help that the next-to-last song we sang was “The Water is Wide.”
The water is wide,
I cannot cross o’er,
Neither have I wings to fly.
There was a water/beach theme going on in Music Together today, which of course was meant to be festive and summery, but for me was poignant and sappy.
Sniff, sniff.
Don’t worry, I’m fine. Just a little sentimental.
