Politics
Wasn't going to post a comment today, had other things on my mind. But, decided to anyways.
I spoke with a friend in regards to politics. He is always trying to get me involved, and as I can understand his motives and passion for wanting to make a difference, in the end, it is of little importance to me. Don't get me wrong, if I could make a difference, I would. But I am just a single mom trying to make it in this world. My passion lies in education, childcare, welfare reform, the homeless, the environment, human rights, you get the picture, but today and yesterday and tomorrow the primary thing on my mind is paying my bills, putting food on the table and finding pleasure in the little things in life.
I have so many other things to worry about rather than what is going on in the Middle East or the Bush family. Not that I don't care, I DO, it is just that... well... no matter my opinion or feelings, it isn't going to change anything in the end.
He said to me "Well if you don't care in the end that Bush family will only get stronger. It takes a million indifferent voices like yours to make a difference. Hell in the last election it would have only taken 532."
My response? "Then it would have been 531." And you know what he said? "But 1 closer, that's the only thing that matters."
