Bubble Bugs and Dragons

Ok, I dunno about you, but my dreams are growing more and more bizarre. Full-blown ultra-vivid color, usually with strange animals, but typically, the same sort of theme.

Last night, I dreamed I was in some large apartment complex. There I was standing downstairs, but instead of apartments, it was some sort of mini-mall or something, although I am not quite sure what it was.

A woman walked by me, about mid 40’s, and I instantly recognized her as somebody I knew due to the fact she was wearing an outfit I had given to her made from glittering gold fabric. Head to toe this chick was dressed in gold, to the point of attention grabbing. Her auburn hair was done up in smooth sleek waves cascading around her shoulders. I recall thinking how much she had changed, and before I gave her all those clothes, she was poor, unkempt and sloppy to the point of dirty. And now look at her.

Then, as I was about to make my way outside, I looked up the stairs and caught a young couple obviously moving in to one of the apartments above. They were carrying the most ornate couch I have ever seen, with a large dragon head on it (and this is not my frirst dream of a dragon, the last one I had was shortly before I moved, I will have to tell you about it later.) The dragon’s head, arms, and legs were made of wood, but they were super glossy as if dripping in fresh blood-red paint. The head itself was positioned in the middle of the couch; the couch’s wooden arms and legs were depicted as the dragon’s arms, legs and claws. The fabric had a mixture of gold, red, blues and greens. The design was so intricate and gaudy, all I could do was stare at this couch.

So then I attempted to make my way outside, and as I approached the exit, a woman was screaming about bugs in the doorway above. She ran past me frantically trying to get away, and a man’s voice behind me said “Be careful, they sting, they stung her.” Well, I jumped forward, unafraid... ready to just run out that door (nothing can stop me damn it,) and as I looked up, these strange little winged creatures, like large insects I suppose, were hanging from the frame of the open door. They were made of almost clear shells that were like bubbles, and shaped in the form of an octagon, with paper-thin wings and eyes that were almost human, fixating on me, unblinking.

There was another creature, in the right hand corner of the door frame, much larger than the others, with no shape that could be described. He was the oldest, and the wisest, and he stared at me as if he was analyzing me, but he did not move, did not make a sound, still and quiet, with an unspoken power.

Then, suddenly, one of the golden bug-like creatures dove at me, spreading its wings to sting me. Just as it stung me, I woke up. And that was that.
