Also, I put up just a couple of new pics of Mercedes and Reeve...Reeve is looking a little dopey in the pics alone, but 2 1/2 month old kids tend to look dopey sometimes.

New stuff on March Madness Hyperbole.

Prior to this war beginning, I would have called myself a news junkie.  I was following all the political developments, reading every op-ed I could get my hands on, even watching Fox News, for Christ's sake.  But now that it's started, I'm hardly paying any attention at all.  I sort of check the headlines, and chat about it with my wife and friends, but only casually.

I'm not sure why, but I have three theories:

1.  I am more interested in the big picture political scene surrounding policy, and consequently the argument for and against are more compelling to me than the details of the event itself

2.  I am secretly disappointed that there's no dramatic protests or anything of the sort in Tunisia, so my hopes of becoming an online celebrity writing about the war in the heart of the Arab world have gone down the tubes.

3.  I'm completely distracted by the NCAA Tournament.

I suspect it's all three, really.

I will say this:  things really took a turn for the worse over the past 48 hours.  I hope we can recover from these problems and get the war back on track, and fast.  Someone told me that Saddam said that Iraq would win the war because he could sustain 100,000 deaths, but the US couldn't take 1000.  This, evidently, is evidence that he is a badass and we are weak.  Saddamian logic won't take you too far, I suppose.
