"America's gone mad"

Read what John le Carre has to say about what Bush & Co are doing in the middle east, from the Times Online. This a continuation of the theme I have going in my posting of yesterday, This explains some stuff. Very well written.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,482-543296,00.html

The imminent war was planned years before bin Laden struck, but it was he who made it possible. Without bin Laden, the Bush junta would still be trying to explain such tricky matters as how it came to be elected in the first place; Enron; its shameless favouring of the already-too-rich; its reckless disregard for the world's poor, the ecology and a raft of unilaterally abrogated international treaties. They might also have to be telling us why they support Israel in its continuing disregard for UN resolutions.

And below, I wanted to share with you a wonderful thing I found at a web site called The Emma Goldman Papers, from the University of California at Berkeley.

http://sunsite.berkeley.edu/Goldman/

I had stumbled on this and was hypnotized by it only the night before that story broke about the project having been censored. I found out about that by accident, at Emphasis Added (Jan. 14, 'Emma Goldman Still Causing Trouble').

http://blogs.salon.com/0001454/

The similarities between what was going on then and what is going on now are fascinating and relevant. Issues of free speech in particular are very germaine. This is a cover of Mother Earth, Goldman's magazine from 1912, with a picture of anti-war dissent being squashed. Nothing has changed much.

Borons

Since Fiona has not yet had time to draw the slew of Fiona cartoons backed up in her mindwomb, today we offer an old one, from several years back, which we scanned because we thought it was worth preserving at the time. This is an enraged woman kicking a boron. Borons are men who are interested in nothing but TV sports, beer, sex and cars, usually in that order (sometimes beer comes first). 'Boron' is a convenient word we made up that combines the two dominant characteristics of boring morons. Some people we know call these guys "meatbutts" too. Many women do get awfully tired of borons. However, we're aware that there are also boronettes out there.

We've surmounted the image-posting barrier today, with the help of several very patient people, including and mainly Lawrence of RUL. (thanks!!!) The problem turned out to be something stupid I did. But I didn't know better. Thanks to everyone else who tried to help.

This explains some stuff

OK, it's a conspiracy theory web site. But I found things here that were extremely thought-provoking. Including this piece entitled Fake Terror: The Road to Dictatorship which outlines the ways in which the control of nations has been usurped in history by fear-mongering and manipulative sneaks:

http://www.conspiracyplanet.com/channel.cfm?channelid=79&contentid=270

There's another article here called Alice in Wonderland and the WTC Disaster that actually goes to the theory we were highlighting not long ago about our "leaders" being manipulated or possessed by something outside themselves... This author calls the conspirators "illumniati", which I find laughable. They would be more aptly named "agents of darkness" or something, in my opinion. I do agree with the label of fascism, though. The F word isn't being used enough to describe what's going on right now, but I do think it's the most accurate.

Those responsible are possessed by non-human entities and have no regard for human life any more than most humans have regard for the death and suffering of cattle.

Whether they are possessed or not, aliens or whatever, is beside the point -- damage is being done. This kind of explanation is probably more of a desperate attempt to understand these senseless events. Nothing rational or reasonable fits -- so we are forced into the realm of the fantastic. That says volumes in itself. How much horseshit can we stand to be buried underneath? I don't know about you, but I'm suffocating.

http://www.conspiracyplanet.com/channel.cfm?channelid=79&contentid=276

Consider this, from the same article:

An economic disaster has long been predicted by those who have exposed and studied the Illuminati agenda. To overcome resistance to single currencies and central control of global finance, they need a world economic crash that will destroy the present system and kid the people into accepting centralised global control as the only way to overcome the crash.

How many people believe, as I do, that our government is actively engaged in breaking our economy? Speaking of Alice in Wonderland, what other explanation could there be for this "economic stimulus" plan that's now being put forward...? Everything for the rich, nothing for the rest of us, we all continue the downward slide -- until they have us right where they want us. Totally, utterly powerless.

By the time the country wakes up out of its trusting slumber, it is going to be too late to save anything. This weekend should be interesting, I am predicting that this peace march in Washington is going to be so big it will rock the world. The news outlets will not be able to spin it or suppress it as much as they want to. I think we are headed for confrontation at home as well as overseas. It is really time to spring into action. Do whatever you can.

Bay Area Protests War Ruth Rosen San Francisco Chronicle

Monday, January 13, 2003

http://www.truthout.org/docs_02/011503D.demos.dc.sf.htm

People are finding new ways to protest against the war:

In West Marin, for example, 50 women recently disrobed and spelled out the word peace with their naked bodies on Love Field in Point Reyes. "Beautiful and brave to lay naked in the rain for a just message," commented one passer-by.
